 Igbawere community is located in Offa L.G.A, Kwara State. The community is a fast developing are with about 600 people inhabiting together, having a mixture of mud and modern house and located very close to Kwara State Polytechnic and Kwara State College of Health Technology. The inhabitants of the community are friendly and are receptive to change which is a very unique and needed factor in our society.

Another unique information about  Igbawere community is that in 1976, the community members single-handedly  started building a primary school structures and were already completing the project before the state government came to help. Mr Isiaka Akanbi said this in a small meeting with the Baale and community elders, which was held in the Baale's residence.

The people of Igbawere Community were triggered in CLTS: community-Led Total Sanitation by the 500 level students of CEERMS, Kwara State University about a week ago.

This quote describes the freedom that CLTS produces and the outstanding change that follows afterwards.

The community members, spoken for by their community secretary promised that additional toilets will be built after this batch is completed. They were awakened to the fact that open defecation is the cause of many illnesses experiences by their people and could wait no longer to put an end to it. They promised to build more toilets after they are enriched by their proceedings from their harvest season.
They also urged the government and members of the public to assist in providing a healthcare centre for them as they had to go long distances before they can get medical attention and assistance. He also emphasized that they are willing also to help and are not going to be sole dependent on help from outside sources.
