On the 1st of June, 2019, the End Hunger Project 6 held at Ajegunle in Lagos. There was a  delay in setting out as it was a rainy day and volunteers from various parts of Lagos were to converge  at  Mile 2. We arrive Ajegunle at about 12 pm and were warmly welcomed by the Baale. We apologized for the delay in our arrival as the people of the community were duly informed about our coming.
The program began with an opening prayer which was led by a member of the community.

A brief introduction of volunteers and OCI followed after anchored by Miss Abimbola.
The Baale also gave a speech to encourage the community members to cooperate with the volunteers and to appreciate OCI for taking interest in the community.

A talk was delivered by Miss Rose Mary on the important of learning a skill in order to add value to an individual, the community and the nation at large. She stated that the importance of having a skill ranges from not been stranded in job seeking hustle, reducing the crime rate in the community, an additional source of income and adding value to the society.

A series of health talks were given on personal hygiene, the appropriate dietary requirements for various age groups in the community and the importance of hand washing. A demonstration of proper hand-washing was carried out by a volunteer and selected members of the community were made to participate in the hand-washing demonstration also.

The medical team carried out glucose- level tests for the community members in an orderly manner, and those with high levels of Glucose indicative of diabetes where medically counseled and further advised to visit the hospital for further medical investigations.

Materials (soap, shaving stick/sanitary pad)were distributed to the adults, clothes, biscuit and sweets to the children. OCI’s EHP 6 was indeed a success as lives were impacted. The community members of Ajegunle were full of gratitude.
