KWASU-SAHES Health Week, 2015

Kwara State University, School of Allied Health And Environmental Science, Department of Community Health Science recently celebrated their Health Week from 30th April - 2nd May 2015.

The just concluded program was a two day seminar at the off campus location and the grand finale was celebrated with a community development and intervention project where the entire students of community health science went into Jankunu community in Kwara State to carry out analysis on individual Blood sugar levels, BMI [Body-Mass Index] and Blood pressure measurement.

I was opportuned to be part of this community intervention and I must say that this is definately a step in the right direction. The whole event was a success as about a hundred inhabitants of the community was tested and some were referred to the general hospital for further diagnosis and treatments. We believe that in our own little way, we have helped save a life and made a difference in that community.

L-R: Miss Olulegan (oluwamiranda) and Dr Olalubi.
Special thanks to Dr Henry Sawyerr, Dr Bode O Kayode, Dr Olalubi and the entire students of Community Health Science in Kwara State University, Kwara State, Nigeria.
