#ENDHUNGERPROJECT III: COMMUNITY PRE-VISIT

Ganbe community is situated in the heart of Ilorin East Local Government Area, Oke-Oyi. The community is on a dusty road, some kilometers off the Jebba Road, Kwara State. The main source of income is farming and hunting. 

We met with the community leaders and some of the women and children when we stated our intent and gave out an official letter of intent to the Mogaji.

The community has a primary school where we held our meeting. However, the community school (Ganbe School) houses pupils from neighboring communities. According to the head mistress, the classes catered to are Primary 1-6 and she presently holds about 96 pupils.

For now, we are working on making packages for all the 96 children in the school while we await more information about the widows and orphans in the community.

The pre-visit was done by Mr Mopa, Mrs Salau, myself and our very patient taxi driver, Mr Taju who despite the very bad road, did not complain at all.
